Aquila Wind Farm is a proposed wind farm in the early stages of planning, located near Mount Aquila in the Dubbo Regional Council, east of the townships of Stuart Town, Farnham and north of Euchareena.
The site’s terrain made up of steep arid hills and rolling ridge lines allows for wind turbines to be installed alongside current livestock grazing, maintaining the region’s close agricultural connection with the land while also generating clean renewable energy.
The project will be assessed as a State Significant Development under Part 4 of the NSW Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979. The NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environment (DPIE) is the state planning authority for the project. Under this process, we are currently preparing a Scoping Report including a preliminary environmental and social assessment.
